Beyond Awesome is going to be the title for an ongoing research project into the critical discussion of digital art / new media/ creative technology based art works.
After the past month ive found there is need for the development of a critical discourse in these art practices. I want to begin with some opening questions –
Is User experience compromising criticality in digital art?
are the main funders for this creativity avoiding artworks that raise conflict? What are the intentions of the marketing companies who fund interactive / digital installations ?
For these writings it would be beneficial to define the term ‘critical’ and look at how critical insights can be reached through immersive / interactive technologies.
