ok, admittedly this project had colapsed with the lack of mobile phone donations. I received one in a month. Suddenly they have some value to new eco recycling companies.
I have decided to approach the installation in a different way and turn it into a performance.
I thoght it was stupid that i could not get hold of any phones when everybody has one. Then i realized i must use the phone that everyone has in the installation. So, with a group of people i will call the first person, get some feedback through speakerphones and leave my message something like ‘sorry you were out please leave your message after the tone’ etc, they then call the next person in a telecommunication hack of chinese whispers.
I will perform this soon and add it to a set list that i am slowly developing of stories, spoken word, songs and sketches.
