Gabriel Orozco

is an artist that i should look more into. His work plays with social exchanges and everyday objects and is performed within the social infrastructure. His public works are reflections of small gestures that construct this massive social structure that we are all in.
In ‘crazy tourist’ he places an orange on a stall in an empty Brazillian market and For Moma he slung a sleeping bag onto the garden (Hamoc en la moma ) these objects symbolise what is left after daily interactions and gestures. And they are so micro and personal.

‘Art is a state of encounter and the world is a arena of exchange’

thats what i say.
